FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

When Should I Contact A Mover?
The more lead time you can give any professional mover, the more likely they will be able to meet your preferred moving schedule.
Do You Charge for An Estimate?
Professional Movers provides free moving estimates. This includes a survey at your location to review the amount and types of goods to be moved. This survey will help us accurately determine the amount of time necessary for your move as well as the amount of van space required along with necessary packing materials.
Local moves are generally calculated on an hourly basis or flat fee. Keep in mind that estimates (household goods surveys) are only guidelines. On interstate shipments, you must pay the total charges as determined by the actual weight of your shipment, the distance of travel, and the services that you authorize or which become necessary to handle your shipment.
Is Professional Movers Licensed?
Not all movers are licensed to transport goods. Choosing a licensed and insured mover such as Professional Movers provides you with the best possible protection should anything unexpected happen to your property. Professional Movers also has Workers' Compensation to protect our career employees.
How Long Will The Move Take?
This depends on many factors, such as the time of year, weather conditions, size of your shipment, time required to load and unload, and the direction and distance of travel time.
How and When Do I Pay for Moving Services?
Payment to Professional Movers can be made by one of the following methods: cash, traveler’s check, money order or cashier’s check. In addition, the American Express® Card, Discover Card, Visa® or MasterCard® can be used to pay for interstate moves only, with advance approval required prior to loading (unless other billing arrangements have been made). We also accept personal checks with preauthorization.
Am I Protected Against Loss or Damages During My Move?
In the rare event that there is loss or damage to your personal property during your move, Professional Movers can file an insurance claim to help you recover financially for any loss or damage. You may also choose to consult with your insurance company representative to determine your own coverage amount.
